In 5 Years or Less (2023) Air Ambulance Drones Will be Deployed; Are You Prepared

Air Ambulance Drones Will be in Your Market Space Sooner Than You Think

THIS IS THE GUY THAT WANTS TO PUT YOU OUT OF A JOB; REALLY?

Well over ten years ago – I will never forget sitting at a lunch table at a conference with several professionals in our industry and a helicopter pilot sitting across from me stated loudly to the entire group, “This is the guy that wants to put you out of a job.” The reason for this comment was because I had authored an article a few years earlier – circa 2004 – that advocated that we should be innovating with full-scale drone technology – especially to design critical medical aviation platforms/aircraft to operate in hostile environments where it would be unsafe for Humans. The article also pointed out that a future shortage of highly-experienced pilots, qualified aircrew (clinicians) and Communications Specialists was looming so this was also a valid reason to design and deploy drones and command centers that operated using AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning) in some instances.

Innovators realize that disruption is often-times an equalizer. Many times when some jobs are eliminated many more are germinated. Or, some are simply adapted. As Air Ambulance Drones progress toward full-scale testing and deployment – many individuals working in our industry will have opportunities to help researchers, engineers, programmers and many more to understand the nuances and critical factors for success so that the eco-systems required to synchronize the IoT (Internet of Things) and Critical Medical Aviation will advance and improve outcomes compared to what we have today.

What is happening at Caltech and at many other places pioneering medical technologies abounds with opportunity as we strive to transform our U.S. healthcare system. In 2023 or maybe as soon as 2021 – who knows – Air Ambulance Drones will be active – iterating and never going away. Remember that many in the taxi industry scoffed at UBER. Guess what; not going away. They are advancing with gusto into aviation too!

The question is – where will you be as Air Ambulance Drones become part of how we manage critical injuries, illnesses and critical shortages in highly qualified professionals to deal with these?

THIS IS THE GUY THAT WANTS TO PUT YOU INTO A JOB; REALLY!

Don’t wait. Begin today to better understand how technologies like autonomous Air Ambulances and other capabilities will impact you and your future – you and your organization’s future – you and your community’s future. And commit – get involved – contact Caltech – and other innovating organizations. Offer to help them to succeed. Offer to help them with testing in your area. Embrace what is possible. Caltech and others are not waiting or resisting – they are progressing at high-velocity and I applaud them. More than ever we need leaders in Critical Medical Aviation – so decide now to think ahead and be making plans to help integrate Autonomous Air Ambulances/Drones and myriad other advances that will vastly improve how we orchestrate critical medical care.
